AgilePoint BPMS enables business to implement process-based applications and integrations that power end-to-end business operations and respond to market changes at the business level using reusable functions built by IT.

Business users hold a company’s real knowledge and know-how. With AgilePoint, business users who make up the enterprise’s frontline can not only model business processes but also deploy them. Now that all the different sides of business management in the enterprise are able to implement and improve processes with which they are most familiar using reusable executable functions built by IT. IT can now perform their functions more strategically and play the true enabler role and does not have to be involved in every improvement. This advancement not only enables business agility but also eliminates chunks of traditional programming and engineering cycle, saving costs and shortening the time it takes to implement a business integration solution. This is how agility can be achieved and higher operational cost efficiency can be quickly optimized.

Unlike a number of BPMS suites on the market that are composed of a set of only “good enough” proprietary products, AgilePoint BPMS is built on today’s latest Microsoft .NET, XML, and Web services technologies. AgilePoint enables business users and developers to design and deploy BPM applications using software tools with which they’re already familiar. It is the first BPMS to directly integrate with Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. In addition, AgilePoint enables businesses to leverages Microsoft’s InfoPath, the leading new form tool on the market, to create open and interoperable XML-based forms for human interface with little or no coding, Microsoft’s BizTalk Server, one of the leading business integration infrastructure tools, as the integration backbone, and Microsoft’s SharePoint technologies as a portal, task and document management center.

While others offer the ability to create hard-coded workflows that have to be supported by developers and separate information workers from their business processes, preventing business users from creating, improving, analyzing, or taking control of their own business processes. AgilePoint BPMS consists of four parts —AgilePoint Envision, AgilePoint Server, AgilePoint Developer and AgilePoint Enterprise Manager —which can be bought as a package or piecemeal for a progressive BPM implementation and lower costs.

AgilePoint Envision™

is a Visio-based tool that enables information workers to build a graphical representation of the business process that is in fact an XML-based executable process model. It extends Visio into a full lifecycle BPM productivity tool for the modeling, simulation, deployment, analysis, and improvement of process models in an environment with which most business users are already familiar.

AgilePoint Developer™

is based on Visual Studio .NET and offers a powerful and open development environment that enables developers to create reusable executable functions, integration with legacy systems, customizations, etc.

AgilePoint Server™

is an XML powered highly adaptive process engine. The user can deploy new or changed process model built with AgilePoint Envision directly to AgilePoint Server, which can automate that process model on-the-fly.

AgilePoint Enterprise Manager™

is a Web-based runtime interface and digital dashboard for management and collaboration.

As enterprises move to a service-oriented architecture (SOA) to better align IT with business objectives, there will be a need for the ability to more quickly and efficiently create applications. AgilePoint is in a better position to aid with this transformation because of its integration with Visio and Visual Studio .NET. As SOAs become the bedrock of enterprises and modeling tools the standard way to build applications, the enterprises with the most efficient tools available to the highest quantity of people will be the ones that garner significant competitive advantage.

AgilePoint is also ahead of the curve in separating coding, integration, and workflow. The workflows created in AgilePoint are completely abstracted from code. AgilePoint also embraces an XML framework across all of its products. The ability to seamlessly interoperate with XML and the absolute abstraction are critical to enabling a robust SOA
